The Olympic torch relay was canceled in New Caledonia due to unrest in the region. This was announced by French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal after a meeting with parliamentary representatives.
Earlier, due to the reform of the electoral system, riots broke out in the region, during which at least five people died.
New Caledonia is a French overseas territory. The torch relay was supposed to take place on our site on June 11.
The Olympic Games will take place in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
